Markus Huber
Markus Huber began studying music as a young soloist in the famous Tolzer Knabenchor. In his early years, he crossed paths with conductors such as Karajan, Ozawa, Sawallisch and Levine and studied conducting, singing and choral directing in Munich and Vienna with Leopold Hager and Bernhard Klee.
In the 2008-9 season, Markus Huber accepted the position of General Music Director of Theatre Pforzheim, as the chosen candidate of the Städtisches Orchesters. Since 2002, he has been guest conductor of the Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra. For seven years, he was principal conductor of the Westsächsischen Sinfonieorchester Leipzig. Markus Huber has also conducted at the opera houses in Detmold, Chemnitz and Eisenach. He has guest conducted with orchestras and choruses throughout Germany, Bulgaria, Poland and Turkey, and recorded a Dvorak album with the Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra.
Markus has conducted The Lord of the Rings Symphony in Canada, Greece and extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Orchestras include the Philadelphia Symphony, Detroit Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and the Orchestra de Cannes. He was the Assistant Conductor and Choir Master for the piece with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and in Japan and Taiwan.
